Synopsis
Anne is a vampire who lives hidden in London, feeding without leaving a trace and passing unnoticed among humans. But a disturbing sensation—the presence of others like her—and the discovery of drained bodies in Paris force her out of isolation to investigate. In the city, she discovers that her former creator, Lorian, whom she believed dead, has returned with a dangerous idea: to reveal the existence of vampires and coexist with humans. To achieve this, he has turned Rose, an ambitious and charismatic politician afflicted with a rare condition that prevents her from exposure to sunlight, convinced she can lead this transformation. But the “gift” awakens something very different in Rose. Far from sharing Lorian’s vision, she embraces her new nature as an opportunity for absolute power. Manipulating those around her and using her political influence, she begins to rise while building her own plan: not to coexist with humans, but to dominate them. Anne, marked by a past in which both were hunted by mortal fear, tries to convince Lorian to abandon his plan before it is too late. But Rose, seeing Anne as a threat, betrays her, attempts to kill her, and unleashes a conflict that drags everyone into violence. To stop her—and perhaps save Lorian—Anne must face a younger but more numerous group of vampires, breaking her own rules to survive. The confrontation leads to the destruction of Lorian’s refuge and his death under the sunlight. But the war is not over. Rose emerges as a new leader, ready to initiate an era of domination… until Anne, in a final move, eliminates her before her power can fully consolidate. In the end, Anne survives. But victory brings her no peace. For the first time in centuries, she faces something she has never felt before: loneliness.
